Should I have my stock driveshaft re-done or go with an upgrade? I have that annoying vibration issue and it sounds like crap at highway speeds. I'm kinda leaning towards aluminum. I heard MMX no longer?? alternatives?? The car only has 77K, so i can see what u guys say about having a crappy driveline.:achoo:

the stock shaft is aluminum already, but find one from a 93, the 93's have a solid 1 piece tube, the 94-98 have a 2 piece tube design, a tube in a tube isolated by a rubber sleeve = doo doo!

What happens to those?? I've seen those for years in steel and never seen a failure.

You clearly haven't been driving Mark VIIIs long enough. The two piece driveshaft is another weak point of this car - good concept, poor execution.

exactly, the big rubber sleeve was supposed to cut back on vibration, which it did pretty decent when they were new, but over time they rot like any rubber, get worn out and cause serious vibration, just picture a payloader, they articulate in the center when you steer them, over time the pins wear out and over uneven terrain the left to right action become up and down movement too, which you do not want, same principal here, not to mention if you update gear ratio's in a mark VIII with a 2 piece shaft, you can very easily twist the two pieces inside the rubber sleeve, then your ride will really suck.
