61 Continental, pops into reverse

My 61 Continental pops itself into reverse after idling for a couple minutes, anyone got any ideas why?

I would check for the basic mechanical state of the shift linkage. if its worn or loose, it may not be fully entering park, and thus possibly slipping into reverse at any time.
