Ok this might sound really stranged, but yesterday while looking in my glove box, I noticed that the owners manual case (which was in perfect condition and BTW Very Nice) was missing:mad: Now why would someone steal a owners manual outta of my car is a ? maybe some of you guys can answer for me, because right now I'am pissed! This crime didn't happen overnight, but probably a couple months ago. The reason being was because there was this one day I parked my car on the street, and noticed the next day that my glove box was opened. It fell down and all my papers where on the floor, in order for the glove box to close properly, you kinda have to fiddle with the latch, and then it will stay closed. So whoever was in my car and stole my case, didn't shut it right. Now at the time when it happened, I didn't think much of it because I didn't see anything missing. I had CD's right on the seat and other stuff that the person could of taken so that's why. At first when I saw the glove box open, I figured maybe it just got loose and dropped opened, but while I recall that day perfectly, now I see why it was opened in the first place because the person just wanted the manual with the black case??? But what kind of person would do such a thing? I'm starting to think somebody in my apartment complex is responsible or knows people that are responsible for this. I live in a very nice quiet neighborhood, so whenever someone in my complex gets there car broken into or what not, my guess is that some of the up to no go punks that live here, have homies that go around and take things out of there neighbors cars. My passenger side door doesn't lock automatically, therefore all the stealer had to do was open the door. Now I know that I need to make sure that door is always locked because of this, that was my fault:( and now that wonderful case is gone:boohoo:

That seems very hard to believe that someone would break into (open the door) your car just to steal your owner's manual and case. I'm not calling you a liar, it just seems very strange. For the manual, you may be able to find one in the u-pull-it yard for next to nothing in good shape especially if you get out there soon after the car hits the yard. I snagged one out of an 80's Towncar several years back. Don't know what I ever did with it but it was in perfect shape.

If you ever want to see your owners manual again, send me $20 and don't call the cops!

I would assume some crack head sees a nice zippered book and thinks something of street value is in there. Or its just laying under your front seat, thrown there from your last smokey burnout! LOL

I don't know if you're in a small town or not, but if you are, beware...
Your factory code for keyless entry might have been written somewhere on the paperwork (if you have it). In which case, you're really skunked unless you change the module because the factory code overrides all the personal codes. They will be able to get into your car including trunk anytime...

Yeah I say look better under the passenger seat! And if it's really gone, keep the trunk release button locked from now on!

Sad thing is, after they realized it didn't have much value(except for someone with a 96 Towncar), they threw it away!!!

I actually had the same thing happen to me about 3yrs ago with a 94 TC I had.
I got up one morning to find that someone (crackfiend I would guess) had climbed up and over the back of the car, smashed out the windshield , crawled through the hole , stole an ashtray full of change and my owners manual and thats it!
I had a cd case packed full, which was untouched.
-- Cop said they could draw a straight line on the city map following all the reports that night/morning. no one was ever caught.
My neighbor found the owners manual in his yard a few days later, with nothing missing.
My guess is that they thought it was a check book or wallet.

All our cars have alarms on them now.

The other thing is I bought the case off Ebay:p for 5 bucks! So it wasn't the original one that came with the car, but still it was super nice. And no I don't live in a small town, people around here don't care about what happens to other peoples belongings:rolleyes:. but oh well, I guess I'll have to look up on Ebay again.

BTW my trunk release button worked one time since I had the car, and now it doesn't work at all, does anyone know how to fix it?

Pappy, you are great. That was perfect.

The switch can be replaced. I reccomend going to Year One and getting the 79-present Mustang catalog. So many parts interchange it's rediculous. They have the trunk release buttons.
