Just got a 94 Exectutive Series to replace my battered 93 P-71 Crown Victoria (Ex Police for the unaware)

I have been kicking around with panthers since 2004 when I got the 93 and now have the 2001 Crown Vic as my daily driver.

The 94 is in pretty sweet condition with 150K miles on her

Already found a replacment grille, this is a metal/plastic one from a 93 replacing the all plastic original.

Motor pretty clean, significant lack of rust for a Mass Car

I have logged almost 150,000 miles between the 93 and the 2001 and have done all sorts of work on both of them. Already have the 2001 and 93/94 Ford Service CD's

I have just started to go through the 94 it is a really CLEAN car
Got it for under $1000 if yer asking

It has factory duals, found a 93 RKE fob in the junkyard and got it programmed and working already  ETAC and Digi dash are all working fine, just got some cheapo rugmats with color match real good too!!

The bad

ABS light on My guess is seized up HCU. Service CD is useless as I dont have the STAR to plug it in to.

Check Air suspension comes on, it appears to be riding up near the top (better than dragging the butt) Again, the Service CD is useless as I dont have the STAR to plug it in to.

AC compressor does not come on, already verified no pressure jumping the low pressure switch did not kick it on. Gonna track down the circut this weekend.

MIL comes on the famous 332 low EGR flow code. Only sets as a continous code or during the KOER test. The MIL only comes on after driving for a while, then stays on. Been there got the T shirt on the 93. The Townie does not smoke, but the EGR passages are likley crudded up.

Hi Chevy guy

Welcome dude :cheer:

ABS light on is more likely to be a bad wheel sensor or connector, whip out an ohms meter and check the sensors, a good sensor should show 800 - 1400 ohms.

If the air suspension is riding high then you possibly have a siezed vent solenoid on the compressor assembly, check out THIS TECH TIP (http://www.lincolnsonline.com/tech/00061.html) in the tech section for some help.

You may have a bad EATC module, jumping the low pressure switch does not always verify no refrigerant pressure, use a test light to check for voltage on the Pink/Light Blue wire at the low pressure switch, if it does not tlight then it is almost a certainty the EATC module is bad.

Try out our search feature you should find a stack of information about your problems in seconds.

Regards

Dereck

Awesome Feedback

I have a nice digital Multimeter so I will check the ABS sensors first. Rule out the cheap stuff first.....

Vent solenoid, will check that...

Was looking for a spare ETAC panel just for teh broken buttons, I know of a 93 with one already!! I heard a rumor that a 95-97 would work too??

I did check the refrigerant pressure with a gauge and got near 0 with a slight puff upon disconnecting. Even with the compressor off that should indicate no refrigerant. Already have some 134A ready to add once the compressor turns on :)

1. Yes, a 1995-1997 one will work. :)

2. You have to add refridgerant for the compressor to cycle. The compressor will not cycle when there is a low amount of refridgerant to aviod damaging the compressor. :)

Odd? Maybe today it's odd, but there were many cars that had red interiors up into the middle 90's.

Yeah, red wasn't all that uncommon. I'm glad mine is black thyough. In conjunction with tinted windows, you can't see nothing! :hide: :D

I had two Chevys that same interior color, but they were also the same exterior color 74 Medium red not unlike my 2001 Vic (Which is parchment inside)

Nice looking car. I am not a big fan of the red interiors but it certainly wouldn't keep me from buying the car. I prefer the earlier metal surround for the grill but that is just personal preference. The ABS light may even just be a dirty wheel sensor. Mine get crudded up with brake dust and throw the ABS light on , I get the pressure washer and spray real good through the wheels and she's good as gold again. Also driving through a good heavy rain can help sometimes but usually need the higher pressure.
