window defrost works and doesn't work

i changed the heater core and the blend door actuator, sometimes the window defrost works, other times it quits, but air does blow through vents adn floor panel when buttons are pushed. like yesterday, the window was thick with ice rain and the defrost didn't work all teh way to town, after the car was warm inside adn parked twice, windows were clean, the defrost came on but after driving it a bit, it quit again...

when i was changing the heater core, i knoticed two big heater doors, one by the drivers right side knee (approximate location) and the other one passenger side all, both had doors on them, but i couldn't budge them with my hand, at the time i was thinking maybe their stuck and i should of put WD40 on the hinges but forgot about it.

Do these doors have anything to do with any air flow???

plus my climate control panel lights keep flashing on adn off, not sure if that has any thing to do with anything...

now my heat stays on continuously, even when i turn the climate control box off, like i said, i did replace the door panal actuator, and i knoticed that if i turned teh heat down to 70 the window defrost stays on ...
