Thanks for everyones help in getting my 94 Executive on the road!!!

Now, I would like to start researching some cost effective upgrades... I have looked up and read and re-read some of the basic mods listed in the tech section from this web site. With the basic understanding that the underpinnings are Ford Taurus (and what I have currently swapped over to), where is the best place to research and learn about the Ford Taurus? I know I could do a search, but sometimes the best web sites do not turn up on general search terms.

there isn't a ton that can be done under the hood, without dumping a bunch into the trans. they are notoriously weak.

the 3.8, in good running condition, is a pretty torquey beast, which is what the conti needs to move it around (since its so heavy). some have thought of trying to put a blower (from a T-bird SC) on them, but its a tough job.. just not any room.

there are aftermarket heads and such for the 3.8, and even stroker kits avail (makes them a 4.2 basically).

for more info, check the modified Essex conti section here (your conti is an Essex).

I've been lurking over at the Taurus forums for the past couple of years: http://www.taurusclub.com/

Also, for the 3.8 engine I'm over at: http://www.v6power.net/

You'll see people there reference the now infamous babcox article on the Essex engine, you can find that here: www.babcox.com/editorial/ar/ar90134.htm (http://www.babcox.com/editorial/ar/ar90134.htm)

For your Conti I'd suggest getting SHO swaybars. You can find year/thickness info here: http://www.panix.com/~awinbow/sho/suspension.html

Also scour the junkyards, early Essex Conti's had a rear strut tower brace, and the front strut tower brace from the 95+ Conti's can be adapted to Fit. As can fender braces from 98+ Conti's. If you can, I'd also get the Moog SHO control arms from a 92ish Taurus, they're thicker than the ones you have now, and greasable!

You can do a big brake upgrade, add a cabin air filter, seats from 95-02 Conti's will fit....Etc.

I've done all of the above to mine. Any questions feel free to ask.
