Hi!
Do you know if there is a difference between the front rotors in '93-95 and '96-98 Mark VIII?
The reason I'm asking is that I can buy front rotors described as '93-95 locally and I want to change them while replacing front hubs.
Thanks!

As far as I know they are all the same.

The only things that are unique to the Gen1 is 96 is obdii so ANY module that communicates with the PCM will not work in a 96 if it's from a pre 96. IMRC is unique on 96. The rest of the car is interchangeable for the most part. 96 models are oddball years, electrically.

FYI - the motorcraft part numbers are the same.

Here's what I found after some research. The brake rotors available in local parts store are Raybestos #66334 (11.56'' diameter) and for some reason Raybestos has diffrent part number for 1996-98 Mark VIII #66749 (11.58''). The only difference is .02'' in diameter. I've no idea why they have two different rotors available for Mark VIII?
I know that everyone recommend Motorcraft rotors for these cars, but importing them to Poland myself will cost way too much.

The Raybestos should be fine if you aren't autocross racing.

If I recall correctly, originally the OEM rotors were different, the latter years being slightly thicker and heavier? But even Ford/Motorcraft discontinued this and eventually they became one and the same.
I suppose there could still be old stock out there and I'm certain several outdated parts listings still exist.

In some places, everyday driving is like autocross racing! :p

Glad to know I won't have to remember to hunt for GenII's next time around.

I bet they're also the same part as Thunderbird/Cougar WITH sport suspension option and ABS, those cars had larger front rotors and used the same tire/wheel size as the Mark VIII. OEM rotors are about $88 stateside, it's too bad you would have the shipping issues to get them to Europe.
