This may not be worthy of a new thread but im just happy with them. These came out of the Cash for clunkers car i posted a few weeks ago. The cell phone mount was still attached so i took the phone off the mount and attached Velcro and its not my Ipod holder it can also hold my cell phone as well. Oh in the back seat i left the Cartier back cushion and put the signature lower cushion in. the upper lines don't match the lower lines but i think it looks fine and i keep my Cartier logos, but for the hell of it i mounted my extra headrests in the back seat figured it needed i got the signature back cushion. all together price of 28 dollars.

I did notice that the cartier seats have alot more leather on them than the signature ones.

these are nice especially for the price, rearview is greatly overrated anyway so you should be fine. btw, did you notice any difference in the lumbar support?

Well I started out with beat up cartier seats so not sure how those feel in good shape but i will say the new seats have alot of lumbar even with the adjustment all the way down. i also feel like i sit up to high and cant get my seat adjusted right. I jsut like not having torn dry leather digging in my back

If I could ever find some decent Cartier seats, I would put them in my car. My black interior looks brand new, but the Cartier seats have a nicer "feel" to them. Although I don't think I've ever seen Black Cartier seats.

I wouldn't mind putting velour seats off a 77-79 Continental in there.

Cartier seats have thicker leather.

Cartier seats have thicker leather.

I definitely believe that. I think the Cartier seats have a nicer pattern and design as well. I would love to find a set of Cartier seats but till then these will do fine.

I have yet to clean these seats. they need deep cleaning but im not sure what to use, On the rendezvous I could not find a cleaner that would get the embedded dirt up so ended up using simple green, a scrub brush followed up with some Maguire leather conditioner and protectant. I jsut wanna keep these seat soft and from cracking.

I use LEXOL. It's a 2 step system. A Cleaner, and a Preserver.

does it get the embedded dirt? Whoever thought ivory was a good color for a interior needs to be shot

not bad for $28. i also use lexol. ifeel it doesn't clean the leather too much, imo it just conditions it/ gets loose dirt. i would like to find something that will bring the armrests back and clean the thread seams

I had to dye my passenger seat because it was looking so poor. Whoever owned the car before me really let them go. I haven't gotten to dying the drivers side but it really needs more than just crack filler and dye. I need new seats altogether. It's a shame there's nothing interchangeable from the newer models. Would be easier to find at least.

Since we're on the interior topic.....how the heck do I clean the seat belts? Mine are almost permanently discolored. I've tried cleaner but it does nothing. When you pull it all the way out, you can see the original color...but it's light years from that. Any recommendations?

If I could find a set of Garnet 95 + seats I would JUMP on it.

I did see one 96? Grand Marquis with that color in cloth and it was trashed inside.

Alas the 90 - 94 seats won't bolt on the 95+ tracks.

Try Simple Green on the seat belts. Don't dilute it, just try full strength.

I don't come over here much, but cheap seats are cool!

You got a great deal on the seats. I had the same idea as you, but when I inquired about purchasing anything from the "clunker" cars, I was told that only authorized personnel could remove certain parts, and that the parts could not be sold commercially. I guess someone lied or didn't know the answer, because I'm sure there are a lot of things from the older cars we could use, especially at rock bottom prices.

As far as cleaning/treating leather goes, I don't think there is a difinitive answer. Since all animals are different, so are their hides. Some need more moisturizing, some less. I have found that my dressage saddles all respond somewhat differently to the various cleaners, dressings, etc. on the market. I don't believe any company makes a one-product-suits-all when it comes to leather seating. If they have, pass the word along to me. Good going on your part.

OEM and more specifically FORD automotive leathers have an extremely thick urethane coating on them. This greatly changes how you would clean the surface, which is more in common with vinyl seating then a leather couch or saddle.

Cartier models often have higher quality leathers and may have a thinner finish which allows more treatment of the leather.

I think its sad that most new cars have just beige, gray, or black interiors. what happened to the Towncars having a green interior :)

How in the world did you manage to add front seat headrests to your rear seats?

It was easy i figured out where they would sit on the seat, Took a shot of Tequila, and stabbed the top of the seat with a screw driver and drove the head rest spike into the seat like a wooden stake though a vampires heart. and was done surprisingly they are pretty solid in there.

I have the back part that goes to the signature seats so figured if i didn't like it i would swap them out so no loss. and i put my Cartier headrest on the signature seats and then had to headrest i didn't know what to do with. I love the way headrest look in back seats

Haven't you ever heard of reincarnation Bill?

Just more reinforcement to my doubt as to the validity of the slogan used down there "Oklahoma is OK"

But he does have one admirer.

Couldn't you have spared the leather poking and just used duct tape like they do on Red and Green show?
