got a 2003 aviator. lights are starting to flash, most recent being the flashing overdrive light.

doing a google search brings up so many products. does anyone have a recommendation for a scanner for my truck? i assume any scanner i get for my aviator should work for an 04-05 expedition too right?

thanks!

thanks for the tip.

these obd 2 scanners, they do all the specific codes right? not just the check engine light?

i always wondered why the scanners that autozone/oreiley uses doesn't read any of the other warning lights on a vehicle.

Cheap OBD II scanners will only read general codes "ie. P0***" mandated by the Federal Government, not Manufacturer specific codes "ie. P1***". Atleast from my experience most scanners will only check the PCM for codes, some might check the other modules, and the expensive ones will read ABS codes. Just about any OBD II scanner will pull a code and get you started in the right direction relating to a powertrain concern. Hope this helps.

Hope you don't have incorrect gear ratio codes....if so, trans must come out and be fixed. Do you have any warranty??
