View Full Version : ABS Brakes engage at low speed stops

My ABS brakes always engage (growl, pedal vibrates) during low speed braking like coming to a stop sign or pulling into a parking spot. The Traction control alert also comes on as soon as I start to accelerate even in dry conditions then quickly goes off at speed. Hope to find a quick fix for this or at least a starting point.

Thanks ,Chet

Whenever I've had this happen it was stuff in the tone rings, stuff on the face of the sensor, or too much gap between the sensor and the ring. The gap isn't always adjustable and I don't know the specifics on the Conti. Pull the wheels off and have a look for anything that just doesn't look right though. Might also be worth unplugging and re-connecting the wheel sensors in case of shaky connection.

Do you know for a fact that you do not have a bad front wheel bearing?
