90 Town Car Original Radio Problems
My factory radio on 90’ Town Car is static only and plays static out of front speakers only. It’s the one with digital display and little round knobs and cassette. Old school. Same face as Mustang and F150. The Lincoln has an amplifier in trunk. You guys ever fix one of these or know someone who does? Last edited by fellchase1; February 28th, 2021 at 05:53 PM.

That radio looks just like the one in my 89. Paul Protos (polyscroll@hotmail.com) fixed mine and did a bang up job. Welcome new guy.

Thats the 89-92ish premium radio. Its actually not quite the same as the F150 one, the toggle volume control is specific to premium sound applications. Everything else had a volume knob. My Mark VII is supposed to have one of these, but it has the later 90s radio thats all buttons. Those are a direct swap so long as the plugs match.
anyway, make sure the antenna itself isn't messed up too. I have had issues with power antennas breaking in a way that they don't actually get signal to the radio. The quick test is to pull the radio, unplug the antenna, and stick a piece of wire in the antenna jack to see if it pulls in a station. If no change, its not the antenna. These do often need an overhaul by now. Also not impossible the amp is messed up. Should be a 4 channel amp, and its possible that the rear channel failed, or maybe just the speakers are unplugged for whatever reason. People do goofy stuff.
