oil fill sensor
ok well we changed my oil pan gasket... so.... after i put everything back to gether here are my problems.... my oil fill senser must have been damaged when we took it out cause it now says that the oil level is bad..... i understand that... but now when i do a system check it tells me "Oil Temp Signal Error"????? and now.... my ABS light is always on.. and my Traction control won't ever turn on....the OFF light on the switch is always on........ AND!!! the air ride system won't pump up.... all those problems at once reminds me of the time my alternator was over charging causeing my computer to go haywire.... so i was wondering if there was something i could have done that made the computer go weird........... any thoughts????? i know i am sometimes confusing.. so ask me questions...cause i really need help. |

Sounds to me like you may have damaged a wire harness, or left something unplugged. Double check your connections, make sure no wires got crushed, etc.

here is some new info.... i pulled my bat cable to reset the computer... and now my oil level sensor says that the level is fine.... so i am probably dealing with a short there... or a bad senser.. "wich is YEAH..not cheep".... but still getting the oil temp erro.....
where exactly is the oil temp sensor..... i wouldn't mind knowing... that way i can look it up and see if i did crush a wire on it.. |

I think it is the same as the level sensor.
Make sure it's plugged in tight, and the wire not damaged. |

well i didn't see where you plug it in at... does it Plug in to the actuall sensor that goes into the Pan... cause i didn't see where i could disconnect it from the sensor... but lol.. maybe i am blind... i mean i do miss things that are infront of my face...

Did you unplug the sensor before you unscrewed it from the pan? If not, you may have twisted the wires and damaged it. It unplugs by pressing a little tab and pulling it out from the center of the sensor.

no the other problems still persist.... so i am not to sure what is up... i mean we didn't mess with the Traction controll you know.... its not any were neare what were were messing with.. lol well close but not there you know....

Well, I was thinking maybe you knocked an ABS sensor loose or something. I am trying to remember where the wires are. I replaced my oil pan recently, but am having trouble remembering.

I am having the same problems with my '94 mark, after replacing the oil pan. Let me know if you figure it out.

If you dropped the subframe a lil to do the pan, you msy have pinched the ABS wire between it when putting it back up. It runs along it by the swaybar mounts.
