What about dropping a 4.6 (281 cu.in. V8) into an LS?
Talk about a Hot Rod Lincoln"! You could "run the pants" off many of the European imports. |

Well, Ford themselves tried to do it. They ran it some, but I think there were overheating and other problems.
If you are thinking of the 4.6 in the Town Car, that is less HP than the 3.9 in the LS. One of the problems for any engine/transmission swaps with this car is that you lose the climate control and the instrument cluster because all the electronics have to be able to talk to each other, and if the PCM isn't there (or isn't the right one), then a lot of stuff doesn't work anymore. The LS really isn't the right car to do this sort of stuff to, in my opinion. If you want a hot rod, get a Jaguar XF (successor to the LS/S-Type) with the supercharged 5L. Well...
Perhaps turbocharging the 3.9 V8 would be a better option for the LS.

It's been tried, but without real success. Jaguar took the same engine (mostly, their version was 4.2L) and supercharged for the last year or two of the S-type (also mostly the same car).
