Several EATC Questions

Guys,
This is perplexing. About two weeks ago my EATC in my 95 Town Car quit working while I was driving home late. It was flickering and turning on and off. The blower would cycle high to low and then the LED's finally quit and it just stop working.

I found a used EATC on eBay and purchased it and it arrive today. I installed it and it appears to work however no fan whatsoever. I can hear the vents open and close as I push various buttons but still no fan. All the other buttons are cycling the various modes but still NO fan. So the unit appears to be good....but read on.

Upon closer examination I noticed the button across the bottom are labeled slightly different then my original unit. Specifically this unit has no "NORM A/C" button instead it's label "VENT". Also where my unit orginal unit was labeled "VENT" this one is labeled "PNL & FLR" I also noticed this unit has a grey colored plastic case and mine original has black. Both units have the exact same "LED" layout.

I'm guessing this is not the correct part for a 95 TC Executive?? The replacement I have has a P/N of
F50H-19C933-AF, which is in large type. There are smaller p/n's on the decal as well, F50F-18C612-AH and EATC - FN74.

Does anyone know what the correct P/N is ???? I also tried putting this replacement unit in diagnostic mode and it refuses to cooperate. I'm pressing the "OFF and FLOOR" button together, then realeasing and then quickly followed by "AUTOMATIC" as described in the "Tech" section on this forum.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
Greg

I doubt you have one from a Town Car. Mark 8 or Continental.
This is a number for the Town Car F7VH-19C933-AA, there could be others.

ive been trying to decipher these part numbers and the one you got i dont think is from any lincoln. The one dusty posted has the right start. F7VH-19C933-AA, F=90, 7=7, V= Lincoln, H= Climate Control so his is a 97 Lincoln climate control. But when i decipher yours the O in your 3rd spot says Fairlane and LTD

In short words you need a climate control for a 95 look for F5VH- part number or make sure the ebay seller GUARANTEES it fits a 1995 Towncar. I got one out of a 97 and it fit my 96 but the auction specifically said 1996 so i was covered with a paypal claim if needed.

The part you got off of FleaBay fits a 95 Continental, not a Town Car.

The P/N you are looking at is not a service part number, but an engineering number.

F5OH tells the entire story (BTW it's O not 0)

F = 1990's decade
5 = year of first use, when combined with the decade (1995)
O = Continental
H = Climate control division.

19C933 is the base part number (EATC)

FA is the design level

If it were to fit a Town Car the prefix would be F5VH.

If it were to fit a Mark VIII the prefix would be F5LH.

Sorry to say, it's time to regroup.

Good luck.

Wrong again, it's from a 95 LINCOLN Continental. (O) during the 90's indicates Continental.

There were no Fairlanes and LTD's made during the 90's. The O was a designation for the aforementioned models, but during a different time frame.

Angry UNKNOWN EATC Error Code

I have a 1993 Lincoln Town Car and I am having an unusual noise coming from behind my A/C Control head. When the car starts, we hear an immediate banging that seems to coming from behind the A/C Control Panel.

When the baning starts, I can only achieve Air Conditioning when I select Auto on the Speed Control and 60 degree's on the Temperature Control. The A/C either runs on High speed, automatically, with Temp on 60. Any other Temperature, we will say 70 degrees the sir comes out very, very slow and every 45 to 60 seconds a get a quick blast of A/C, and then it returns to the Slow speed (cold air comes out. - trickles.)

When I turn a corner or come to a sudden stop, I hear a loud bang and the ducts are now pushing HOT AIR.

When the Heat is needed the banging is very quite and most of the time the banging is stopped or at a minimum.

My Mechanic, who seems to be experience in working did a EATC Self Test and he came out with only 1 error code 02. It is the only error code that shows up.

I do not seem to find that error anywhere in your site. I have looked the the errors for the 95-97 on the URL for the 95-97 TOWN CAR EATC SELF DIAGNOSTIC TEST and no error code 02 is present .

Help - have you seen just an error 02?

I don't have to guess.

$462.65 at http://www.tascafordparts.com/

Sounds like salvage yard time.

Good luck

NoOc,
Thanks for all your help! I sincerely appreciate it, I've been unemployed for some time now. Worked Aerospace engineering for 24 years and then my employer want to have me sell out my department by going to China. I took the package. Been trying my best to keep my TC going and this forum has been very helpful. I haven't been this broke since my college days.

It's called FM as opposed to AM (Ancient Modulation).

FM = F***ing Magic.

The same place you didn't find it - The Internet !

That and some experience in a Ford parts department.

The last year for a LTD was 1986 and for a Fairlane was 1971.

Just have to Google the correct thing, I guess.

Sorry to hear Strider

Yes, a junkyard is your best bet. You can pick one up there for probably under $30.00. Mine was $21.99 total, IIRC.
