Background:
I was lined up in my fugly Mark VII right behind a 50-ish guy in his freshly waxed, highly modified '01 or newer Corvette. His license plate said URSLO or something obnoxious. He was a redlight nutcase.....leaving black streaks at every light amongst a sea of minivans. The next road section was nothing but limited access highway with an uphill section & sharp turn about a mile out followed by a downhill section...perfect.

Fun begins:
Light turns green & he gooses throttle as expected. I hold the throttle to the floor for about 1/4 mile & he makes the mistake of letting me intercept him. He accelerates hard again to about 100. Now I'm deep into OD, pedal firmly planted on the floor (WOT OD upgrade, of course) and feeling better by the second as an off-camber turn approaches (one of my favorites, mind you). You know, the kind of turn most folks "respect". Now we're going side-by-side at about 110 MPH I'm about 2' from the inner guard rail....ready to perform a nice, flat-footed 4 wheel drift. Mr Vette is in way over his head....

Result:
Superman in his $50K car totally whimps out in the corner backing off to about 80 MPH, so I blast by & quickly switch to his lane to magnify the embarrassment.

At the next intersection he pulls alongside and asks "Wanna see what you got"?? I reply..."been there already guy, what's more to prove...I got front of you!" I told him to meet me at our local road track (Beaverun) to race for titles or some cash even up. Told him I needed the money.

After that he had little to say or show.

I'm no fan of street racing, but under certain circumstances it's harmless & very humorous.

Great show of force Rick.
I ran a very new BMW but my blower torque was a bit much for him and with my improved handling to boot, was a shut down.
Were putting togather a 351 powered sportsman alky sprinter and looking for factory N351 heads and rockers but will go new if none come up soon.

Great story. In my early 20's I had a similar incident between my 67 big block Fairlane and a 69 Vette except it was Mr. Fairlane who was in way over his head.
