they make a tool for it, or i think they make a plumbers thin wall deep socket that'll fit it. luckily, the guy at the gas station i used to work at had one.

I'm getting spark, just no start. From other posts, it sounds as if it is the tfi.

If getting spark, TFI most likely NOT cause of no start. address EGR problem first then go from there.

Tfi

Is it possble to swap the TFI without removing the distributor? If so on all Mark VII (mine is 1984)?
If so with which tools?
If not you can use a 5.5 mm driver (very common for computer housings).

Mine is a little 1/4" drive kit with a few common size deepwells
that are pretty thin walled for about 1/2 the length.

Got the set maybe 6 or 8 years ago.

If it sparks, its not the TFI. I promise.

Though to answer the question about removing, if the tool you are usin g is small enough, you might be able to get it in there, even if it requires spinning the distributor a bit. I had no luck personally and yanked the distributor.
