In the US you can go to prison for not pay child support. When will a non-paying father go to prison & if when will he get out?

Here you will just be indebted & chased by the execution office.

A similar thing could happen here in the 50ies.

If you are handsome enough & you are capable to find women without raping, you can make 100 children with up to 100 women. Strangely enough this is legal in most countries (at least in the civilized west), though you cannot pay for these or be a good father to these children.

A guy in England is on his way. 21 years - 7 children with 7 girls. When interviewed he said his mother was angry.

To the question how much are you paying for your children he stated: Zero - I have no job but is unemployed.

Is this funny, crazy or just insane. I wonder what the 6th & 7th (girls') parents thought when they found out that their daughters were the 6th & 7th mothers to this big seducer.

Haven't you brought this up before? Do any of these topics you bring up ever answer any of your questions, or is it just to get everyones panties in a twist? You've shown yourself to be an intelligent person, so I can't believe that you actually think your blatant generalizations are fact. You must understand that it's not as simple as "no child support payment = jail" since there is a process that takes each case on it's own merit.

In the US the woman gets 6 months off when she gives birth and shes not guaranteed a job when she returns. In Europe the woman gets 12 months and she is guaranteed a job when she returns

In the UK you get 26 weeks, with additional speculations to get the additional 26 weeks.

True...I took Paternity leave with all 3 of my kids...9 weeks, 12 weeks, and 12 weeks. There is no provision for you to be paid during this time so you must either plan and save, be lucky, and have parents with deep pockets! I planned and saved, and had the children right around tax refund season! We are fortunate in that all of our children have been planned.

Now, Paternity leave requires at least a 30 day notice (if at all possible) and you can't just up and leave when your wife goes into labor without risking your job.

I get the feeling that this is not the topic the OP was trying to bring up though. Some of us are in a situation where paying child support was the correct choice to make (by this, I mean that divorce was the correct choice). As Josh points out, each case is examined individually to determine which parent, if any, should have custody and pay child support. I think the OP is either not very tactful, or is purposefully trying to piss people off.

I don't know, i don't care. I DO NOT like to discuss politcs with anyone for any reason. Mostly because I, like most of you, think i have the right idea on EVERY situation.

Besides it is funny with the English guy - he won't go to prison in england, though not paying.

Concerning Sweden - parents gets paid for 1 year i think 75% of the salary up to $ 40,000 & this time can be splitted between the mother & father.

On top of this a number of days can be used for many years to care for a sick child.

BUT SWEDEN ALSO HAS THE CHAMPIONSHIP IN TAXES!!

It depends on when they get sent to jail, its not something that happens right away. I would say any where from 3-12 months

Listen, man, you're not really getting it. There is no magical formula to determine which guy goes to jail and when. There are too many factors involved. That's how the legal system works...you do have a legal system over there, don't you?

Sweden's legal system is not really like ours, theirs is purely democratic if i recall

I'm sure the court system is similar
