If the fronts are actually 6x8's then 6x9's shouldn't be that hard to put in. You may have to do a little cutting to mount them as well as making new mounting screw holes but you should be able to do it.

its actually a 5x7 hole. Mounting a 6x9 there is not going to happen without a good amount of work. Basically you would have to cut out the stock mounting bracket and/or make the hole much bigger to accept the new speaker. It can be done yes. You can make your own baffle out of an MDF ring. Its going to be a lot more work than it will be worth in the end though unless you are really set on doing it. Best way to really understand is to take your door panel off and really look at it and see what I am talking about. why dont you check and see if they have a 5.25" speaker in that same series as it is very easy to convert that hole to accept that size of a speaker. You would be cutting down on your woofer area but you can make up for it in other places.

I see what your saying about the 6x9 so your saying use the round one 5.25 its like a circle would fit better?. I think i saw thoes. I purchased the othe rpair of 6x9 but i can return it. I know i would take my door pannel off but i am not at home or even remotly cloes to my car. i am on vaction other side of the world where my car is. So the speakers are cheap here so i though what do i have to lose i guess. I know i heard of some towncars with the round speakers in the front mine came with 6x8 is there a big diffrence from 6x8 to 6x9i know i would have to cut the hole a bit bigger and some work. Let me k now your ideas i open mined

Replace a 6x8 with a 5x7 or another 6x8. Don't try to fit anything else in there.

Bingo. There are plenty of nice 5x7s out there for most any budget, I'd do the JL Audio XR two-ways.
