1992 TC 7 groove power steering pulley
I'm looking for a PS pulley with 7 grooves. Does anyone have an idea where I can get one? Does Arnott sell such parts? Thanks Bob |

You should be able to get one from a local auto parts place like autozone. But you also need a puller to remove it and to install the new one!

Purchase the puller/pusher for the pulley, then pick one up from your local u-pull-it yard.

I also need this pulley. I called a few dealerships around my area and they all say it's a plastic pulley. I would much rather have the metal obviousily. F1VY-3A733-B right? Do they not know what they are talking about or am I confused?
Please and thank you! |

That plastic pulley is not all plastic, the inner part that goes on a pump shaft is metal. The problem is that plastic pulley is not tight press on that metal inner part and the pulley wobbles, at least my old pulley, don't know about brand new one. ![]() i also replaced serpertine belt with motorcraft one, which seems to be way better quality then aftermarket other brands. ![]() and high pressure hose, which's teflon gasket at the pump side is one use only, but cant remember the part number. Notice that the old hose has some electrical switch on it, while new one came with plug bolt. My 91 towncar doesn't even have any harness to connect to that switch. The switch probably applies for later models with variable assist power steering.

that switch on the pressure hose is to raise the idle speed so that the engine doesn't stall when the car is moving slowly and you turn the steering wheel.
if you're having problems with stalling in such situations, you might consider installing a crown victoria police cruiser pcm into your towncar. these have a higher base idle speed and you won't need the pressure switch.
