Removal and Installation procedures generally apply to all models. If some of
the steps do not apply to the particular model being serviced, proceed to the
next step.
Removal
- Remove inside visor assemblies.
- Remove visor arm clip.
- Remove the assist handle assemblies and coat hook cover, if equipped, as
outlined.
- Remove the upper screw and loosen the lower screws that retain the center
body pillar inside upper finish panel to the B-pillar.
- Remove roof side inner front moulding
- Remove the upper screws and loosen the lower screws retaining the windshield
side garnish moulding
- Remove the windshield garnish moulding
- Remove package tray trim panel
- Remove roof trim panel
- Remove interior lamp
- Adjust front seat(s) full forward and fold the seats back.
- Pull down sides of roof headlining above door openings to expose adhesive
beads. Using a hot knife or wide-blade putty knife, cut adhesive beads lengthwise
across roof headlining . Roof headlining will now be free to remove from
vehicle.
- Remove roof headlining through RH front door opening.
- Clean remaining adhesive from roof sheet metal.
- Remove any remaining mounting bases or retaining clips from roof sheet
metal.
Installation
NOTE: Folding headlining will require replacement with a new headlining.
- Carefully position new roof headlining in vehicle with fabric side down.
- Allow roof headlining to rest on floor.
- Apply adhesive meeting Ford specification WSB-M2G355-A across roof headlining
in positions shown using a hand-held adhesive gun.
CAUTION: Use care when lifting the headlining into position to prevent
getting adhesive on steering wheel and other interior parts.
- With one person on each side, raise roof headlining into position.
- Position the roof headlining in the vehicle and install the interior lamp
.
- Reverse Removal procedure except Step 9 (interior lamp).
- Tighten shoulder harness to specification.
